They may have reportedly broken up, but Aaron Rodgers is still showing love to his former fianceé Shailene Woodley.

The embattled football star, recently embroiled in a COVID-19 vaccination controversy, shared a #MondayNightGraititude online post and gave a special shoutout to his former flame.

“@shailenewoodley, thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life,” the Instagram message read. “Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like, I love you and am grateful for you.”

During a February 2021 appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Woodley – known for roles in films such as the “Divergent” series and the HBO drama “Big Little Lies” – confirmed their engagement: “We are engaged. But for us, it’s not new news, you know, so it’s kind of funny.”

“Everybody right now is freaking out over it and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while,’” the Golden Globe nominee added.[More Snyde] Dave Grohl explains how his hearing loss made the pandemic even worse »

A year later, it’s a different story.

Reports of the couple calling off their engagement surfaced last week.

According to In Touch, the Green Bay Packers quarterback “put football first” and neither he nor Woodley were happy.

The outlet also reported that the 28-year-old Rodgers got cold feet as his wedding day with the 30-year-old beauty approached.

A Woodley source confirmed to CNN last week that the couple had called off their engagement after “they grew apart” but noted “there is no animosity and they will remain friends.”
