Employee shot at popular Mexican restaurant

The cook’s helper | 25 de octubre de 2016

PALM SPRINGS, Fla. — A popular Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs is back open for business after an attempted robbery and shooting Monday morning.“We’re at a prime location. We’ve been here 25 years. We’ve had two instances,” said Louisa Gonzalez, owner of Tacos Al Carbon. Gonzalez spoke only to WPBF 25 News hours after police said a man, wearing a hoodie, walked up to two employees at a food truck demanding money. ”Unfortunately, it was during peak hours when a deputy had just left. Employees were cleaning inside the kitchen.” Gonzalez says her cook was shot in the arm, shoulder and stomach, but is in stable condition, recovering at St. Mary’s Medical Center. The cook’s helper was pistol whipped and after being checked out at JFK Hospital was released. “The good thing is my workers are fine and that’s what’s most important,” said Gonzalez, now doing her part to catch the person responsible – handing over surveillance video to police. “Hopefully (they’ll) get this person and put him behind bars.” If you know anything about this crime, contact Palm Springs
