A 74-year-old woman was treated for smoke inhalation and a man is missing after a fire that tore through a multi-floor, hillside home Thursday in Mount Washington. As many as 12 people lived in the three-story mansion in the 4000 block of North Sea View Avenue. The injured woman was in fair condition, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Of the 12 known residents, only an 84-year-old man was unaccounted for, Humphrey said. The man was identified as the home's owner, who rented the mansion to tenants. Several residents reported missing or deceased pets. Building and safety officials were inspecting the house Friday morning. Searchers plan to enter the building after authorities determine it is safe.More than 125 firefighters and three helicopters were fighting the flames that ripped through the 9,111-square foot home. At least three people were rescued by firefighters, who pulled them from windows.
